Dedicated to the memory of Bernadette Ahearne. Much loved, never forgotten.

Your struggle Mum is over, you fought so bravely till the end. Each day was hard and difficult, for you could never mend. You missed our dearest Dad too much, he was your right hand man. He was called away and left a void no one could truly understand. We did our best to care for you, we hope you understand. You can rest now Mum, in peace, while you are holding our Dad’s hand.

Thoughts

Mondays and Tuesdays were the days I was lucky enough to spend lunch times with you. Today I feel sad, because you not being there is a huge loss. But I am also happy that you are back with Richard. You were such a lovely lady with fantastic stories about your work and the family you adored. You were so kind, and never moaned about my bad spelling when doing the crosswords. You thanked me every time I did something small like make a cup of tea. But I should have thanked you, as it was an utter pleasure to be able to care for you. You had some great one liners. We saw a fashion piece and were commenting on what we thought looked good and not so good and you suddenly said ‘because we are the perfect’. Well you definitely were Bernie! Sending lots of love to the family you have now left behind. You never stopped speaking about them and your love and admiration for each of one them. May the knowledge you are back with their dad, grandad and great-grandad help ease the pain of loosing you. I will continue to eat a Kit-Kat with a cup of tea and never forget all that you taught me through the short time I spent with you. Thank you Bernie x

Sending you and your family my deepest sympathies. I worked with your mum at Eversley and she was adored and loved by us all. Rest in Peace Bernie.
